Transaction Delays

Incident Report for Currencycloud

Postmortem

Overview

On 16 June 2026, we identified an issue affecting our transaction screening service, which resulted in a temporary disruption to compliance checks required before payments and collections can be processed. During this period, new transactions requiring screening were unable to progress and were held in a queued state until the service was restored. The issue was resolved with 2 hours, with full recovery achieved and transaction processing returning to normal.

Client Impact

During the incident window, some payments and collections experienced delays as they were temporarily unable to complete required compliance checks.

All impacted transactions were processed successfully following recovery, with only a small number of payments ultimately delayed beyond their intended processing date and no data integrity or financial impact.

Root Cause

The incident was caused by a database-related issue introduced during a routine system update, which temporarily impacted the performance of the screening service and led to a short disruption in processing.
